Data Sovereignty and Hosting Account Portability
Customers retain ownership and control of the data stored in their hosting account, including website files, uploaded files, databases, email data, and CiviCRM data.
Customers may create and download full website and database backups at any time through the Hosting Control Panel. This allows customers to retain their own copy of their site data and migrate to another provider if they choose.
CiviHosting uses customer hosting-account data only to provide hosting, support, backup, security, migration, troubleshooting, and related services requested by the customer, except where disclosure is required by law.
Customers may cancel their hosting service according to the applicable Terms of Use. After cancellation, expiration, or termination of service, hosting account data may be deleted according to normal account-retention and backup-retention procedures. Upon written request, CiviHosting will delete customer hosting-account data sooner where technically and legally feasible, excluding logs, backups, billing records, abuse-prevention records, tax records, or other information that CiviHosting or its infrastructure providers are required or permitted to retain for legal, security, accounting, or operational reasons.
