Wikispaces is Closing

The Wikispaces team has announced the news that they are closing up shop for good. On their Classroom and Free Wikis page they note that: we do not have a way of exporting your Wiki direct from Wikispaces to another site What that means is that Wikispaces sites will be stuck soon with no option. We at CiviHosting, however, have developed an migration tool to allow users to convert their sites to another Wiki format. See our Wikispaces Migration page for full details.

CiviCRM Pay Later Option Bug

One of our clients recently upgraded to CiviCRM 4.7.29 and then their existing Contribution page started giving a 500 Server Error. They asked us to debug and we found that the issue was a missing classname and we traced that to the Pay Later option. Then we found this Pay later not appearing as payment option which looked similar and says it was fixed for CiviCRM 4.7.30. We upgraded their site and indeed their bug was fixed also.

Meltdown and Spectre

Meltdown and Spectre are two recently-discovered security vulnerabilities in modern CPUs, including those used on our servers. The brief response from CiviHosting regarding these two issues is that Meltdown is a serious vulnerability, but our servers are not vulnerable to it. Spectre is less serious, but our servers are not vulnerable to it either. The GDPR is the General Data Protection Regulation and as the home page of the EU GDPR site says: After four years of preparation and debate the GDPR was finally approved by the EU Parliament on 14 April 2016.
